Guide for Parents: What You Need to Know!
Please read the following information carefully!
-
Students are offered a term trial period, during which they can train in sports clothing or their school PE kit (jogging bottoms and a T-shirt or sweatshirt). This trial period allows students, parents, and instructors to decide whether Tae Kwon Do (TKD) at Ivydale is the right fit before committing.
-
Before new students can begin TKD classes, parents must complete the Membership Form (found below) and submit a £20 payment to New Wave (via bank transfer). This £20 fee is non-refundable and covers insurance for practice of Taekwondo and is required before students can start training.
Please note that students will not be allowed to participate in class if the form and payment are not received at least three days before their first session.
Note: Should your child choose to continue with TKD beyond the first term, your £20 payment will be taken off the final cost of Membership/ insurance and uniform.
-
By the end of the first term, students who wish to continue must have an official New Wave Taekwondo uniform.
Only New Wave TKD uniforms may be worn at sessions
Tae Kwon Do Uniform:
Sizes 100 cm, 110cm & 120cm = £30
Sizes 130cm & 140cm= £35
-
If your child has a medical condition that may affect their ability to take part in Taekwondo, this must be declared.
In some cases a letter from your GP confirming your child is fit to practice Taekwondo may be required for insurance purposes.
